Kristin Cavallari has revealed that she and Jay Cutler continued with a romantic relationship after they filed for divorce.

The reality TV star and the NFL star married in June 2013 and have had 3 children together. Cutler filed for divorce in April 2020, agreeing to share joint custody of their children. Cavallari appeared on Podcast One’s “Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast this week and said she wondered if the split was the right decision shortly after they ended things in April of last year. She then admitted that they went on multiple dates to consider rekindling the relationship.

The thing with Jay and I is we’re not getting a divorce because of love lost, which made it really challenging because we were crazy about each other. I just decided I didn’t want to be in a toxic relationship anymore and I had to break it off. But, that’s made it hard and made me sit here and question it for a few months.

Cavallari said this led to she and Cutler going out again, but obviously the dates did not work out for the power couple. She added that the feeling just wasn’t there anymore, and it felt wrong.

I was like, ‘No, this is wrong,’ It just wasn’t there anymore. It’s not there for me anymore. Going back and dating him a little bit made me reaffirm it like, ‘No, I know that I’m doing the right decision.’

As far as how things are going these days, Kristin hinted that she and Cutler’s current relationship isn’t the best. She called it a “rollercoaster” and said she’d never talk to him again if they didn’t have children together.

I think when we go through a breakup, like all of the sudden our minds turn on us, and we only remember the good times, and, then reality sets in and you’re like, ‘Oh no. No. No. There’s a reason why I left.’

Cavallari has dated a few people since the split from Cutler, and was most recently linked to country music singer Chase Rice. Cutler was seen with a mystery blonde earlier this year and just confirmed back in August that he had started getting back into dating, but that it was “hard as hell” these days.
