The Tiger King Zookeeper Erik Cowie passed away last month, and the circumstances could not have been more unfortunate. TMZ reports that the legendary zookeeper died after consuming copious amounts of booze.

NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner revealed that the cause behind the zookeeper’s death were acute and chronic use of alcohol. This dispels any speculations as to the Cowie’s death being due to an unnatural cause. The official report marks his death having done from natural causes.

Erik was found dead last month. He was found dead last month in the room of a friend’s apartment whom he was visiting in New York City at the time. Cowie was also found alongside a large bottle of vodka.

Cowie was mostly known for his appearance on Netflix’s Tiger King. The series spanned for two seasons, and received great reviews from fans. The star zookeeper died at 52 in rather dire circumstances as there was a warrant in his name when he failed to show in a court hearing. Rest in peace.
