Machine Gun Kelly didn’t have kind words to say to metal band Slipknot back at the 2021 Riot Fest in Chicago. He was performing on the final day of the festival when he dropped those controversial statements. MGK mentioned that he’s happy that he’s not 50 and wearing a weird mask on the stage, alluding to Slipknot.

Kelly’s remarks may be related to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor taking a shot at him in an interview without explicitly mentioning him by name. Taylor was unimpressed with artists who fail in one genre and jump ship to rock. When Kelly got dragged for his comments, MGK explained that Taylor had sent in a verse that was “terrible”, and he got mad after it was rejected.

It still looks like Slipknot fans are not happy about his Kelly’s comments from the Riot Fest. While he was performing at the Aftershock Festival last Saturday in Sacramento, fans in attendance started throwing bottles and tree branches at the Rockstar. This took place while he was climbing up a tent in the middle of the crowd.

Footage of the incident surfaced showing a bottle being thrown at Kelly, as well as a thick branch of a tree. A plastic Coke bottle was also heaved at the rapper turned rocker. This took place after he was greeted with boos from the audience during the beginning of his performance. Kelly didn’t seem all that affected by it all.
