Lil Wayne is currently one of the top rappers in the Hip-Hop world and has produced numerous classic tracks. It is a known fact that has a deep love for tattoos on his body. He also had a very difficult childhood, where Lil Wayne even tried to end his life once.

Weezy is also well aware of the new generation of rappers in the industry right now and never shies away from giving the rub to a select few whom he deems worthy. He did so for Rich The Kid recently as well.

Lil Wayne has worked with the best of the best the Hip-Hop world has to offer and that includes Drake. He also mentioned how collaborating with Drake wasn’t exactly easy for him.

During a private party at the swanky Swan restaurant in Miami, Drake decided to toast his ‘idol’ Lil Wayne on his 39th birthday in a way only he knew how.

“We don’t get a chance to gather as a family much anymore. I still, to this day, get nervous speaking about this man because, at the end of the day, as much of a brother and a mentor as he is to me, he’s still my idol. And still somebody who just puts me in a place where, when I start thinking about him, I start thinking about my family.”

Drake also took to Instagram and uploaded photos from Lil Wayne’s 39th birthday celebrations. He posted a group photo featuring himself, Weezy, Young Money President Mack Maine and Wayne’s former manager Cortez Bryant among others, as well as photo booth flick of him holding up one of Wayne’s “Best Rapper Alive” bandanas.

Drake and Lil Wayne certainly go a long way back and it is great to see Drake still remembers all that Lil Wayne has done for him. We wonder whether the two will collab again in the future or not.
