American singer Ashanti is one of the prominent names in the world of R&B. The singer recently announced that she will be re-recording her debut album.

The singer recently appeared on the “Tamron Hall Show,” where she announced that she has finally obtained her masters, and described the feeling as surreal.

I have an amazing legal team, and I got my first record deal when I was 14 years old, so understanding and seeing how things have changed so much from then to now and conceptually understanding what you’re singing is so imperative, it’s so important nowadays. The fact that I’ll be able to re-record my first album, and put everything together.

Some fans were left confused as to why Ashanti would re-record her debut album, since she now owns the masters to the project. However, the singer seems excited about the venture.

Ashanti has described the prospect as an honour and a blessing, and said that she is grateful for it.

In the interview, the singer also discussed her recent appearance as a surprise guest during Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle. Surprisingly for her, ex-boyfriend Nelly also appeared as a guest. She described the experience as weird since they had not spoken in six years.
