Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC and it seems that seemed unlikely in the past.

Their questions were answered as it was previously announced that Nick Diaz will be squaring off against Robbie Lawler for his return fight. Dana White even compared Nick Diaz to Mike Tyson before his fight.

Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz put on a terrific bout as they chose to trade shots and make it as physical a fight as possible. In the end, Robbie Lawler eventually overwhelmed Nick Diaz and hit him with a right hook that sent him crashing to the canvas in the third round.

Referee Jason Herzog had to end the fight 44 seconds into the third round after Nick Diaz was unable to get up on his feet. According to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Robbie Lawler thanked Nick Diaz for bringing out the best of him in the fight.

“Thank you for bringing the best out of me. I have a lot of respect for you. Hopefully your life is gonna get together and good things are going to happen to you.”

Nick Diaz had previously stated that he will come right back to MMA should he lose to Robbie Lawler, so it remains to be seen when Nick Diaz will make his return to the MMA world.
