Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC and it seems that seemed unlikely in the past.
Many fans also wondered whether he will be facing off against Jorge Masvidal as well. However, it was then confirmed that he will be squaring off against Robbie Lawler for his return fight.
While speaking to the media ahead of UFC 266, UFC President Dana White talked about the nature of Nick Diaz’s relationship with the world of MMA. White then stated that Nick Diaz is very similar to Mike Tyson as their love for their respective combat sports depends on their mood.
“When you talk to him, you know, he’s very Tyson-esque. He reminds me of Tyson. When Tyson’s not in the right mood, he’ll tell you all the things that he hates about fighting. When he’s in the right mood, he’ll tell you all the things that he loves about fighting. He has this love-hate relationship with the fight game like Mike does. They’re very similar in the way that they speak if you catch him in the right mood,”
Dana White stated that he is unsure whether Nick Diaz will return to MMA after UFC 266 as well. Nick Diaz will be squaring off against Robbie Lawler at the upcoming UFC 266 pay-per-view in a five-round fight on September 25.
It will be their second fight since UFC 47 back in 2004. Diaz had also stated that he will come right back if he loses to Robbie Lawler. We will have to wait and see who will come out on top.
