21 Savage turned himself into authorities today in Atlanta over multiple charges, including drugs and weapons charges, that stemmed from his 2019 arrest at the hands of ICE.

The rapper’s ICE immigration case was a big story in 2019. It seems that story hasn’t gone away and now 21 Savage is in the hands of the police. He was detained for nearly a month in 2019, and now he will continue dealing with that situation.

Uproxx reports that a warrant for 21 Savage was issued by local magistrate on September 7th. After he learned about the warrant, 21 Savage turned himself into authorities.

The warrant issued an arrest for 21 Savage alleging that he had drugs and weapons in his possession. He was seen throwing a bottle of codeine out a window during his ICE stop, and he also had a handgun in the vehicle.

This takes place weeks before 21 Savage is set to start a tour with J. Cole. That “Off-Season Tour” might be in jeopardy now.

21’s attorney, Charles Kuck, told Buzzfeed that this latest warrant is just a last-ditch effort by ICE. “The warrant appears to have been sought at the behest of ICE, as the warrant was issued in the eve of an Immigration Court hearing in Mr. Joseph’s deportation proceeding, and is based upon events that transpired on the evening that ICE arrested Mr. Joseph over 2 and one-half years ago,” Kuck stated. “There can be no doubt that ICE is seeking to cover its own errors in detaining Mr. Jospeh by pushing trumped-up charges against him and seeks to stop him from obtaining lawful permanent residence in the United States.”

We will continue following this on-going story here at Thirsty. Hopefully, everything works out for 21 Savage, because he doesn’t have time to waste behind bars at this stage in his career.
