2016’s Suicide Squad film was written and directed by David Ayer. Despite being a Box Office success, grossing over $740 million at the worldwide box office. the film was panned by both fans and critics. The Suicide Squad, the franchise’s 2021 soft reboot has received a much different critical reception with a 93% fresh ranking on Rotten Tomatoes.

John Cena is also set to star in a spinoff based on his Peacemaker character. Many fans were highly impressed with Cena’s portrayal of the Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad. It was previously revealed that the show will be taking place both in the past and present.

It was also said that the upcoming spinoff TV series will have more action than any superhero show ever, which certainly made a lot of fans excited about the show.

While speaking on an exclusive panel for TCA 2021, John Cena revealed that filming for the Peacemaker spinoff TV series mirrored his experience working in WWE.

The Peacemaker spinoff series will be releasing in January of next year and will be 8 episodes in length. We will have to wait and see just how good the spinoff will turn out to be.
