Drake & Kanye West had been beefing together prior to the release of DONDA or Certified Lover Boy. It makes sense for the rapper to diss Kanye West on his album, but what fans were the most puzzled with is why did Drake take shots at Swizz Beatz.

Certified Lover Boy‘s You Only Live Twice, which features Lil Wayne & Rick Ross, carries a diss towards Swizz. “Unthinkable, when I think of the way / these dudes been acted,” is a reference to Beatz’s wife and Drake’s song together, named “Unthinkable.”

Drake didn’t stop there. He dropped a reference to a song on which Drake and Beatz worked together, which is “Fancy.” While fans marvel why the two are beefing, it’s because of Beatz calling Drake a “Bitch” when he was live with Busta Rhymes. Drake was thought to be behind the leaking of the song. This is why Beatz apologized and said that the beef was not in fact personal.

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy finally got a win over Kanye West’s DONDA in terms of streaming. Much like Kanye West receiving shade from other rappers, Pusha T recently threw shade on Drake.
