Kanye West put a ton of hype behind Donda from insane listening parties to allegedly creating a “toxic” environment while producing the record. A leaked text even revealed how he fired an engineer and told him to “go find god.” The public has spoken through buying up Donda like Ye is God himself.

The first week album sales are in for Donda, and Ye must be happy. According to chart data, he officially moved 309,000 records in the first week in the U.S alone. That secured him with the biggest album debut of 2021.

DJ Akademiks dropped this information and said that Kanye is still expected to haul in over 130,000 more units in a twelve-day span. That will rank him at just under 450k copies sold which is quite impressive.

Kanye rubbed Donda into Drake’s face in a big way. He even plastered DONDA all over Drizzy’s home city of Toronto. We can only imagine how the former DeGrassi star is taking this news after Certified Lover Boy just dropped and is hoping to gain that kind of momentum. We’ll have to see if Drake’s numbers can top Ye in the end.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
