Kanye West Files Paperwork To Legally Change His Name To ‘Ye’

Kanye West goes by a couple of nicknames, and some he might not approve of. He must really like being called “Ye,” because that is the name he wants on all of his official paperwork.

According to a report from TMZ, Kanye West filed paperwork to legally change his name to “Ye.” He just filed those documents asking the court to grant him that name change.

His real name is Kanye Omari West, but he wants to go by “Ye,” a nickname he’s donned for years now, practically his entire career. Yes, everyone knows him as Ye anyway, but he wants to make it official.

We’ll have to see if those LA court documents are granted and Kanye’s name changes for real. Odds are he’ll never stop fans from calling him Kanye West, because that is what they’ve always called him.

In California, unless there is evidence a name change is designed to commit fraud, then the judge will approve it. Therefore, it looks like this name change will go through without any issues.
