Jim Jones said that he thought he was “superman,” but that didn’t matter to COVID-19. The rapper was hit hard by the pandemic and he can attest to the fact that COVID is very real.

After contracting the virus, Jones jumped on Instagram and he urged fans to mask up and stay safe out there. He contemplated keeping his personal business private, but the 45-year-old veteran of hip-hop instead decided to share this very important message.

“I was contemplating whether I should do this or keep my business to myself, but I think it’s more important for me to do this. I urge everybody to stay safe out there. COVID is real. I was runnin’ ‘round here thinking I was Superman and COVID knocked the socks off Superman.”

“So, I urge and encourage everybody to please continue to mask up, please continue with hand sanitizer, social distance as much as you can, try to stay away from a lot of packed and crowded places. This shit is no joke. I really felt it and I don’t want nobody to feel like how I felt.”

The Dipset emcee continued and said that he’s not pressuring anyone to get the vaccine, but they do need to be safe. It is a scary and unpredictable world out there, and Jones dealt with a terrible situation, one which he luckily survived.

Thankfully, Jones also revealed that he is now COVID-19 negative. Our thoughts go out to anyone suffering from a terrible situation due to this awful pandemic.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
