Bill & Melinda Gates Finalize Divorce In Rapid Fashion

Bill Gates and his wife Melinda shocked the world when it was announced that the two split. Many projected a long divorce to divide up the billionaire Microsoft founder’s assets, but they were mistaken.

Bill and Melinda Gates called it quits and were able to finalize their divorce in three months according to Us Weekly. They made things official on August 2nd. but it wasn’t noted exactly how they split the financials.

The couple were married in 1994 and have three children together, daughter Jennifer, 25, son Rory, 22, and daughter Phoebe, 18. Their split seems to be an amicable one as Bill cut his now ex-wife a $1.8 BILLION check during the breakup.

Not all divorces can be this easy, because some like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s keep stretching out forever, but Bill and Melinda set a new record for speed when finalizing their split. Getting a $1.8 billion check in the process probably helped the situation for Melinda as well.
