Former President Barack Obama is going to be 60-years-old on August 4th, and he wants some friends around for the festivities. No expense was spared with this party either.

According to The Hill, Obama is throwing an over-the-top party at his 30-acre Martha’s Vineyard property. The outdoor event will be star-studded as well, because he has a lot of very famous friends.

Pearl Jam is also set to perform at this event with 200 staff and 475 attendees. COVID tests were requested for anyone attending the event as part of their invitation. A “COVID coordinator” will also be on-site to make sure that protocols are kept.

Obama is seemingly going above and beyond to keep COVID protocol in check, but he is still taking fire from critics. “Why is Obama throwing a maskless 60th birthday bash in Martha’s Vineyard and flying in 475 celebrity guests on private planes — what happened to mask mandates and going green?” one person tweeted out.

Another person tweeted out to make their point regarding the situation, “You will see a slew of right wingers denouncing Obama for his 60th birthday gathering this week. All of the sudden COVID will be a serious issue to them until of course an extra 100,000+ cases pop up in Florida or Texas; in which case it’ll become a ‘hoax’ again.”

To be fair, many large gatherings have taken place with far more than 600 people. Rolling Loud just packed 200,000 fans in Miami and Lollapalooza just crammed a ton of fans into Chicago.

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
