John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. From 2017 John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood.

2016’s Suicide Squad film was written and directed by David Ayer. Despite being a Box Office success, grossing over $740 million at the worldwide box office. the film was panned by both fans and critics.

This ultimately led to James Gunn taking charge of The Suicide Squad which is said to be a ”soft reboot” of the 2016 film. The film stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, John Cena as Peacemaker and more.

John Cena is also set to star in a spinoff based on his Peacemaker character. While speaking to  ComicBook.com. John Cena made it clear that the Peacemaker spinoff will retain the quality of The Suicide Squad and explained why that will be the case.

“Well, you have the same writer, the same creator. James directed a lot of episodes, and certainly, he’s involved heavily with production. So I think if you like what you see in The Suicide Squad, you’re going to be able to lean into more of those moments on HBO Max with Peacemaker.”

The Peacemaker spinoff series will be releasing in January of next year and will be 8 episodes in length. We will have to wait and see just how good the spinoff will turn out to be.
