The Rock has not wrestled a match for WWE since WrestleMania 32 when he hit Erick Rowan with only his finishers and then he got the pinfall; literally a six-second contest. He’s about to add another match to his history.

Dwayne Johnson has not been able to risk injury in the ring, because he tore his pec during a John Cena WrestleMania match. That injury caused a delay in shooting for Hercules so the star could heal.

It appears that WWE has been able to arrange a return for The Rock. Andrew Zarian dropped a bombshell during the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast. WWE is holding Survivor Series in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and they need a huge name to highlight on the event.

“You’ve got a big show in a big building and you’re trying to tell it out. I mean who better than […] the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. He is definitely Walking Tall, but he was in Get Shorty. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ is expected for Survivor Series. I feel confident that is the plan.”

WWE wants The Rock to come back and he misses performing in front of those fans as well. Now it seems that it won’t be long until The People’s Champion comes home. The big question is how many television dates they can secure for The Rock and how much involvement he will have with the big Survivor Series event.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
