Lil Wayne made a lot of fans take notice when he noted “The Carters” in a social media post. Many thought this was a sign that he got hitched. That rumor spread like wildfire and Weezy was soon seeing his notifications flood with congratulatory messages he didn’t ask for. It had to have been a confusing time for Lil Wayne, but he is now making the situation very clear.

While talking to Nicki Minaj on Instagram Live, Lil Wayne got down and dirty while admitting his favorite sex position. Before that took place, Minaj kicked off the interview by asking a question on everyone’s mind: ‘Did Lil Wayne get married?”

“No, I’m so glad you asked me that — I did not get married. First of all, I said ‘The Carters,’ and girl that’s my sons the name of the group.”

Lil Wayne laughed in a huge way after revealing that he didn’t tie the knot, all the while blowing smoke out of his nose. Wayne then said that his sons added “boys” to their name, so now they’re The Carter Boys to avoid any future confusion.

The internet heard those congratulations and really thought that Weezy got married. He was quick to stop that rumor, but it doesn’t sound like he’s mad about things at all. He actually had quite a good laugh the entire time. When it comes to his sons rapping, Wayne said it is “amongst each other — friendly competition.” We’ll have to see if the Carter Boys have a future in the industry.
