Conor McGregor remains one of the most well known MMA fighters in the history of combat sports and his accolades over the years speak for themselves. The Notorious is also known to trash talk often, with varied results.
While Conor McGregor has backed up his trash talks in the past, more often than not, they have also resulted in embarrassing defeats for him. McGregor also doesn’t hold any title in the UFC.
Many people are currently of the belief that Conor McGregor simply isn’t as good as he used to be, especially compared to what McGregor was a few years ago. However, UFC President Dana White has a different opinion.
While speaking to The MacLife, Dana White called McGregor one of the all-time highest money-makers in Las Vegas and stated that he is on the same level as Mike Tyson.
“There’s this buzz and energy around a McGregor fight that reminds me of the Tyson days. He is at a level with Tyson, Holyfield, and De La Hoya when they were on top and the list goes on and on. He’s one of the all-time moneymakers in Vegas.”
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will ultimately come out on top.
