Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen spent nine seasons playing with each other on a legendary Bulls dynasty that is still regarded as one of the best pairings in all of sports. Years after they competed together, Pippen is speaking a bit more openly about the “what if?”

While speaking to Dan Patrick, Pippen went into his career a bit. He wondered what it would have been like if he was never traded tot the Bulls on draft night. He was headed to the Seattle Supersonics to play with Shawn Kempt and Gary Payton. That team would have been a fantastic force as he pontificated that the Supersonics would have seen the NBA Finals instead.

“I would have had some pretty good teammates, especially if we were still landing Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. It is a team we played in the Finals. So, that sort of fit.”

He admitted that Kemp and Payton would have been “some pretty good teammates.” He then went on to say that “it would have been a lot of fun. I don’t know if he (Jordan) would have made it that far. If you know what I mean. I’m just saying.”

Of course, Pippen was referring to the NBA Finals when he said that he didn’t know if MJ would have made it that far without him. The Chicago Bulls was a magic formula that worked very well for years. It’s best not to mess with history, especially when it was so dominating.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
