Pop sensation Britney Spears is certainly a controversial figure in the music world, going back to her 2007 meltdown and her father then moving to form a conservatorship around Spears’ estate.

Britney Spears finally spoke out against her father’s conservatorship on June 23rd addressing a Los Angeles Superior Court judge via video. For a long time, Britney Spears has been working hard to get her father out of her life. Spears compared her father to a “sex trafficker” and said that “he loved” having control over her.

Thirteen days after the court hearing, her court-appointed attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, still has yet to file the paperwork necessary to begin the process. According to Page Six, a source informed them that Britney Spears doesn’t understand what’s taking so long for her conservatorship to get terminated.

“Britney doesn’t understand what the holdup is. She feels she made it crystal clear in court that she wants the conservatorship terminated, but nearly two weeks later, she’s still waiting for the petition to be filed.”

Six days after the hearing, Page Six was informed by two legal insiders that  Ingham had drafted up the petition and was expected to file it immediately.

“Britney and Sam [Ingham] have been in touch multiple times since her testimony. During those conversations, she has reiterated to him that she wants him to file the paperwork to end the conservatorship.”

Despite her plea, Britney Spears’ conservatorship was not terminated by the judge and at this point in time, it is not known if there will be any progress in that effort. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
