Allison Mack was known from her work on Smallville, but in recent memory her name has been in the headlines for another reason. She was part of a sex cult and has now been convicted for the part she played.

The actress was sentenced to three years in prison for her role in the NVIVM group. This group is described as a “sex cult.” She pled guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges after her arrest in 2018.

Started by Keith Raniere, the NVIVM sex cult portrayed itself as a self-help group for women. The group had much more nefarious intentions. Women were groomed to become the leader’s sexual partners.

Raniere also formed a sex cult within the group called “Dominus Obsequious Sororium.” He was accused by several women of branding them with his initials as well. Mack was accused of recruiting those women to join the group, portraying him as their spiritual leader.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
