Michael Jordan is no longer balling on the court, but there was a time when he quit the game to take up baseball. That move surprised a lot of people, especially after the tragic death of MJ’s father, and Jordan’s lackluster baseball career was also featured in the OG Space Jam film. Then the game called him back.

Scottie Pippen was on the other side of that situation. He can now look back at Jordan’s decision and speak openly about it. While having a talk with the Dan Patrick show, Pippen opened up about MJ’s move to baseball, and he called the decision selfish.

“Yeah It was a big decision, but It was a selfish decision, but it was kind of who Michael Jordan was. That was a guy who believed he can do anything on his own”

Michael Jordan’s baseball career did not amount of much. He was eventually sent to a farm team where he was a ticket draw, but it was nothing compared to the glory he experienced on the basketball court. We’ll have to see if Michael Jordan comments, because he doesn’t need to. That also doesn’t mean he won’t take things personally.

H Jenkins

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
