LeBron James and the LA Lakers are out of the NBA Playoffs after a first round loss. Many fans were shocked at the Lakers’ poor performance, meanwhile, others where shrugging their shoulder and saying “I told you so.” The cracks in the Lake Show were evident near the end of the season.

James played through injuries, one of many that plagued the entire NBA roster. He later threw shade at the NBA for their grueling schedules and not allowing players to rest. This was one of many things he spoke out about, ironically around the same time that he was voted the biggest whiner in the NBA.

Magic Johnson saw LeBron’s play and he had an astute observation. While speaking to ESPN’s Get Up, Johnson said that King James only has one year left to be “the man,” and then it’s Kevin Durant’s league.

“I think LeBron’s got one more year to be the man, and then it’s Kevin Durant’s league right after that,”

There are cries for LeBron to take a pay cut so the Lakers can bring in another big star. A third star might be needed to support James as he can no longer carry the entire team on his back.

We’ll have to see what’s in the cards for next season. The Lakers are certainly going to re-focus and try again. There could be some alterations made along the way to improve their chances at success.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
