Anderson Silva is regarded as one of the all-time greats in the world of MMA who competed against several top names in the MMA world when he used to be active. Silva was released from the UFC last year in November after he lost to Uriah Hall in his final match.

Anderson Silva squared off against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., son of the legendary boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. on June 19 in a boxing match. He was clearly the underdog heading into the match as many believed Chavez Jr. would have an easy victory.

However, that was definitely not the case as Silva showed the world he is still as powerful a striker as Silva always has been, even at 46 years of age. He would defeat Chavez Jr. in triumphant fashion.

While speaking to MMA Junkie after his fight, Anderson Silva took the opportunity to hit back at his haters who say he is too old to compete inside the boxing ring.

“You know, this is very special for me, especially because a lot of people think I’m old but I’m not old. I love my job, I love fighting and when God continues to give me salute, I continue to do my job because the secret for you to be successful in life is not about listening to bad people, it’s putting your heart in your job and working hard, and doing your best you can.”

We will have to see who Anderson Silva will face next, as he also recently stated that Silva is open to facing off against the Paul brothers, especially Logan Paul. It would certainly make for a solid match either way.
