Nate Diaz remains one of the most legitimate fighters to have ever stepped foot inside the Octagon. Diaz last competed against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” title at UFC 244 back in November 2019. He lost the match via doctor’s stoppage.

At UFC 263, Nate Diaz finally made his return to the Octagon as he squared off against Leon Edwards. However, Diaz’s return didn’t turn out as well as he had hoped as Diaz lost the fight via unanimous decision.

While speaking on the UFC 263 post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz talked about his loss to Leon Edwards. Diaz stated that he got a cut in training, which was why his fight against Edwards was shifted from UFC 262 to 263.

Diaz further stated that he lost motivation in training camp. However, Diaz added that while Edwards won the fight, Diaz was clearly the better fighter.

“I got cut in training. That’s why we pushed the fight back a month. I kind of lost motivation after that. He won, but I feel like I’m the better fighter still.”

With Nate Diaz losing his first fight, he still put on a stellar performance that undoubtedly thrilled fans. Now that he is finally back to the Octagon, we will have to see what is next in store for Nate Diaz.
