Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers in the world. He would consider himself THE greatest. William Shatner had a curiosity that got the best of him regarding Tyson’s punching strength.

In a new commercial for Copper Gel, Mike Tyson and William Shatner were alone in a boxing gym. The is when Captain Kirk made a suggestion. He wanted to get punched by the greatest.

Mike Tyson didn’t want to hit Shat. “I don’t want to hit you, Bill,” he told his buddy. Then William Shatner persisted, so he got punched.

Shatner was taken back by the punch and then Tyson offered him some Copper Gel for his pain.

In a second commercial, Shatner and Tyson were arm wrestling. After making a joke about how much each of them lift, Tyson lifts 300 pounds and Shatner lifts 3, they continued arm wrestling.

Tyson won that arm wrestling battle with little effort, and then he celebrated. This is when Shatner was hurt again and Copper Gel was there to make the save.

This is a pretty great pairing and we’re all about more Shatner and Tyson antics. Perhaps Hollywood could write something special for the two on the silver screen. You can check out the commercials within this fine article right here on Thirsty.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
