DMX will always remain one of the most popular rappers in the history of the Hip-Hop world and his influence will be remembered forever. The rapper passed away after being hospitalized due to an apparent drug overdose back in April. The Hip Hop world is still mourning his loss and that won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Since then, DMX’s posthumous album came titled EXODUS came out recently and there were certainly a lot of expectations for it. DMX was working on the album for months before his unfortunate passing.

However, it seems the album failed to live up to expectations despite having a stellar ensemble including the likes of Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and others. According to a report by Hits Daily Double, the album is only projected to move around 28-32k copies in its first week with about 12-14k of those being pure sales.

The album is expected to be ranked in fourth place amongst the top-selling albums this week, falling behind the likes of Juice WRLD and Taylor Swift. The reason for such poor sales can be attributed to a lot of reasons. The album dropped just 49 days after DMX’s passing, which is likely to have been far too early for its release.

The album might have performed better if it had released around Summer of this year. Regardless of the disappointing sales projections, DMX’s contributions to the Hip-Hop world will never be forgotten no matter what.
