WWE Using Cardi B Song For Official SummerSlam Theme

Cardi B fans perked up during SmackDown this week, because they heard a very familar song. The biggest party of the summer is going down on Saturday, August 21st, and Cardi B might be invited.

WWE fans were treated to a hype video for SummerSlam during Friday Night SmackDown. SummerSlam’s official theme song made its first appearance in that video.

The company is using Cardi B’s “Up” as the official SummerSlam theme song. This is not a huge surprise as WWE and Cardi B have been rumored to be friendly for some time. Stephanie McMahon even namedropped her in a recent interview when discussing celebs the company would like to bring in.

It’s unlikely that Cardi B will get physical in the ring. She is known to throw down when the situation calls for it, because Cardi isn’t going to walk away from a fight. Odds are she will still get a very nice payday from WWE for using her song during the build for SummerSlam.

The company has not revealed a location for SummerSlam yet. They have a multitude of NFL stadiums that they are currently considering. We do know that Cardi B is going to get a lot of airplay in the months to come as WWE hypes their big event.
