Friends remains one of the most beloved and influential sitcoms in the history of the genre. The colorful cast of characters featuring Ross, Rachael, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey captured the hearts and minds of an entire generation of viewers.
Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachael Green was a trendsetter when it came to fashion back in the 90s and was one of the most popular characters in the history of television at that point in time.
The main cast of the show remained friends even to this day, but fans certainly have wondered whether any of them hooked up with each other during the course of the show. Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were asked by Access if there was a “rule” about hooking up with one another. They all revealed that they never hooked up and simply remain friends.
”And If we were hooking up, if there was any strangeness going on…that might mess with things. So we kept a friendship, and we did become really good friends. And we are really good friends to this day. And we kept that going.”
While speaking to Access in a separate interview, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow were also asked if they were hooked up with their male co-stars. Courtney, Jennifer and Lisa didn’t recall a no hooking up rule, with Lisa Kudrow adding that she was ‘engaged’ at the time. Jennifer Aniston was especially surprised after hearing what her male co-stars said.
“I don’t remember any pact. It’s a smart idea, but I don’t remember actually talking about it.”
The match-awaited Friends reunion is set to air on HBO Max on May 27th. We will have to see how good the reunion will turn out to be as fans are surely looking for that one big hit of nostalgia.
