Ever since Jake & Logan Paul started riding the money-train by doing celebrity boxing matches with Triller, a lot of celebrities from the world of MMA & boxing have weighed in to express their opinion on the twins. Georges St-Pierre is one of such personalities.

While most criticisms of the brothers include outright bashing, the former two-division UFC champion acknowledges that they’re athletes who have great potential, but it’s a mistake to assume that they can hold their ground in front of elite and MMA fighters who have been trained to give their all in a fight.

In a recent interview with JOE.co.uk, Georges St-Pierre revealed that while the two brothers having been flashing their wins against well-known names from the world of MMA & boxing, they don’t really have what it takes.

I’m not one of the haters. I think they’re doing well. They’re great athletes and they ride the wave, they make a lot of money with it, and I’m glad for him. My friend Jean Pascal trained with one of them in Puerto Rico, I think they’re both there actually. He said they work very hard, they’re hard workers, they ride the wave, you know. It’s a new era with social media and all that, so why not, you know? Who would not have done it? Who would not take advantage of it? And they do it.

After making it clear that he respects their hard work and got to know about it firsthand from his friend Jean Pascal, he did have some valid criticism to offer about them as fighters.

I believe it’s a mistake to think that they could compete amongst the elite of boxing or mixed martial arts because it’s not true, but they are great athletes. Maybe as time goes by they will improve and improve and one day if they want to give it a real shot, let’s go. I think one of them is fighting Floyd Mayweather, but of course, Floyd Mayweather is much smaller and he’s retired, so it’s not the same. It’s not a real championship bout like it would be.

Triller is behind organizing most of the high-profile celebrity bouts. While Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. exhibition bout had Jake Paul feature on their undercard, they also organized the recent Logan Paul vs. Ben Askren where Paul defeated the former UFC fighter. In his criticism of Triller, St-Pierre said:

Triller, what they do, they make like a freak show, so to speak. They want to give people what they want to see, so now it’s a new era. People want to see who is the best fighter in the world, yes, that’s what real boxing fight, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, will give them. UFC, that’s what it will give them. But they want to see also, because they’re curious by nature I guess, they want to see that guy versus that guy because he trash talk him and he did that to him and he grabbed his hat or whatever the hell, so people are curious and that’s what Triller gives them. They give that sort of entertainment. It’s all good. I’m not one of the haters. I think there is room for everything.

Georges St-Pierre is perhaps one of the very first celebrities from the world of fighting who has a positive take on the Paul brothers as well as celebrity boxing. Dana White, UFC’s founder and CEO, has been beefing with the brothers publicly, and also restricts fighters currently on the UFC roster from fighting in a celebrity boxing match.

He recently stopped a massive fight between Oscar De La Hoya & St-Pierre, where both the fighters had a chance to make millions for themselves. As per the next chapter for the Paul brothers, Logan Paul is set to face legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout on 6th June, organized by Triller.
