The Billboard Music Awards was a big night. DaBaby even picked up an award, but they didn’t play the right song when he made his way up to accept the award for Top Streaming Song. He won for Rockstar, but they didn’t play the correct Rockstar.

Both Post Malone and DaBaby have songs called Rockstar. Nickleback has one, too. Imagine the chaos that would have erupted if Chad Kroeger’s voice range out instead, because it was bad enough when they accidentally played Post Malone.

Our own Thirsty For News Twitter picked up on this immediately as we tweeted out asking: “DaBaby picks up an award for Rockstar and they played Postmalone’s Rockstar. WTF?” We weren’t the only ones with questions.

Plenty of fans jumped on Twitter to call the Billboard Music Awards out on this epic botch. The person picking the music had one job, and they pulled the wrong Rockstar.

“Not the producers behind the scenes playing Post Malone ‘rockstar’ while DaBaby won and not playing his song smh lol,” one fan tweeted. Another reacted by saying: “they really played rockstar by post not da baby, embarrassing.”

You can check out some of the best reactions below. Hopefully, whoever made that mistake will learn how to double check their work next time.

Do you think this was an intentional slight on DaBaby? Sound off in the comments!

Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
