Actress and comedian Ellen DeGeneres became a pop culture icon and a household name after starting her own show called The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which started back in 2003. However, now it seems she will be ending the show soon.

Degeneres will be bringing an end to her talk show after 19 seasons and more than 3,000 episodes. She has also been a subject of controversy due to allegations of toxic workplace behavior, bullying and more. According to the New York Post, she will end the show after one more season.

“She’s promised one more season after this one and will exit at the end of the 2021/2022 season.”

In fact, Ellen Degeneres herself confirmed that she will be ending her show as Degeneres recently told the Hollywood Reporter. Degeneres stated that the show simply wasn’t a challenge for her anymore.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,”

Degeneres then further added that she had planned on ending the show long before claims surfaced of her alleged toxic behavior behind the scenes.

“I was going to stop after season 16,” but pushback from “affiliates and the stations” had her settling for three more seasons. That’s been the plan all along.”

Fans are undoubtedly sad that she will be ending her iconic show after 18 years, but that also means new beginnings for the comedian. We will have to see what is next in store for Ellen Degeneres after her show ends.
