Kanye West is being accused of not paying up. This could result in a pretty tough situation for the mogul.

A former Yeezy employee alleges that Kanye engaged in labor code violations because he didn’t pay her for off-the-clock work she performed and other expenses to do her job. This is according to documents obtained by The Blast.

Taliah Leslie, who worked for Yeezy as an Assistant Designer, claims that Kanye did not comply with the California Labor Code requirements due to its section about misclassifying employees as independent contractors. This deprives them of wages and other benefits that employees receive.

It is alleged that Leslie wasn’t paid for off-the-clock work that she did on the job site. She also claims that Yeezy never paid for all of her travel expenses. Those locations included Cody, Wyoming, where Kanye has his mega property, and Paris, France.

She claims that there was no reimbursement for a cell phone and internet usage either, all of which were required to perform her duties. Yeezy is also getting called out for not keeping payroll records that show total hours worked and wages paid for employees.

Leslie is seeking civil penalties pursuant to alleged labor code violations, attorney fees, and any further relief the Court may deem proper and just.

She filed a claim in February with the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency, but she received no notice back within 65 days. Now she’s going after Yeezy and Kanye via civil action.
