Eminem doesn’t take the stage very often anymore. The lyrical genius spends a lot of time in the lab cooking up new tracks. His touring schedule was certainly slashed during the pandemic. He might just take the stage again soon enough.

No lineup has been revealed for Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival yet, but it sold out in minutes. The media is speculating that Eminem is on the list, but is that the case?

Forbes kicked this rumor off in a big way in a little write-up that they did about the sold-out festival. They were hyping the fast sellout, and namedropped Slim Shady in the process.

Artists who could perform at the event include Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and Eminem, among others, with Scott serving as the headliner.

The Forbes article named the Houston Chronicle as their source. It is possible that the Chronical got this information from a legit place, but the November 5th and 6th concert at Houston’s NRG Park has not officially announced anything yet.

The Houston Chronicle actually posted: “As in past years, performers likely won’t be named until just before the gates open. […] So who’s showing up this year? Here are a few guesses. And wishes.”

A list of possible artists was mentioned, and Eminem’s name was in the article. These were only “guesses and wishes.”

Nowhere in the article did it say that Eminem will be on the show. This is wishful thinking until they make the announcement official. They could honestly wait as long as they want to at this point, because the festival is already a sellout event.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
