Jessica Simpson has been promoting her memoir “Open Book” lately, which recounts her journey from being a popstar to becoming a big name in the fashion industry. Along with the many wild experiences and moments of joy, she talked about her experiences with being body shamed.

The fashionista recently revealed that she threw away her weighing scale and has no idea whatsoever about what is her current bodyweight. Apart from having an intuitive focus on fitness, she doesn’t care what anyone feels as she feels home in her own skin.

In the 29th April episode of Today, she told Hoda Kotb that she has a very good relationship with her body and that she feels a sense of liberation in being whoever and however she wants to be.

I threw it out. You said it was, like, a Ouija board in church, bye bye. It was like a Ouija board … [I have] no idea how much I weigh. I just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up. If I don’t, I have another size. I have every size.

Even though she’s at the top of her game for a long time now, she was subjected to a lot of body shaming by the tabloids in the foundational stages of her careers, when she didn’t know how to handle it.

I’ve really tried my hardest to not let that define me. It was really hard because they were judged by the world, obviously, and that was probably the most stressful thing is, like, just the negativity of, like, things people would say.

Along with other things, Jessica revealed that she feels no woman has to face body shaming. She also talked about her past relationships, including a rather painful and toxic one with the artist John Mayer. Stay tuned for more.
