Mortal Kombat is in theaters and on HBO Max, and fans can’t wait to see another installment already. They are crowing for Johnny Cage to make his debut in this Mortal Kombat universe, and Ryan Reynolds is a fan favorite to take the role.

Reynolds didn’t outright accept the part, but he’s heard his name come up in that conversation. His notifications must be crammed with fans begging for a Johnny Cage cameo to come his way.

The Deadpool star tweeted out his little tongue-in-cheek reaction to this fan casting. He also threw in a little plug for Mint Mobile, the cellular service provider partially owned by Reynolds.

What do I do with casting rumors and wireless competitors upset that @usnews just named @Mintmobile 2021’s best cell phone plan?

Finish ‘em!!

We’ll wait and see if Mortal Kombat makes enough buzz to warrant more movies. They could have sequels planned, but you never know how those Hollywood executives will react to this installment’s reception. If Ryan Reynolds threw his hat in the running to play Cage it might help move that deal along to get more films green lit.
