The nostalgia wave is going to continue and the Flintstones are next in line for a reboot. This animated recreation of the classic 1960’s cartoon series will also be a different take on the classic family dynamic.

The Wrap reports that Elizabeth Banks is set to star in the Flintstones reboot series as an adult Pebbles, Fred and Wilma Flintstones’ baby girl all grown up. The project, currently in development at FOX, will feature Pebbles taking off on her own.

The Stone Age is set to give way to the Bronze Age in this series as well. So, it’s historical, in a manner of speaking. The residents of Bedrock will discover this is a bit of a struggle as the eras pass before them.

Lindsay Kerns is on the film to pen the pilot script for the potential series, produced by Banks. We will have to see if this series gets picked up, but it is a very interesting concept.

H Jenkins

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
