Michael Lohan has been arrested as part of a patient brokering scheme in Palm Beach County, Florida. He was taken into custody on April 23rd.

Lohan, best known as the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested for allegedly coaxing drug addicts into treatment in exchange for financial kickbacks as part of the scheme.

Michael Lohan’s arrest is part of a “patient brokering” scheme in south Florida. The 60-year-old was not the only person arrested as part of this operation. It is reported that 100 people were arrested in this situation.

As it stands, Michael Lohan is facing five counts of patient brokering and one count of attempted patient brokering. Those are for bringing those addicts to treatment centers in exchange for financial payment.

Court documents show that Logan received checks worth over $25,000 for his alleged part in the scheme.

He spoke to an investigator on April 8th, but he denied being a part of any patient brokering scheme. South Florida has a very high concentration of treatment programs and sober living homes. It is a $1 billion business for the state at this point.
