John Cena is set to take on the Peacemaker role in a big way. He is starring in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, and that character already has a spin-off on HBO Max. The character is awesome, but there’s a problem with the Peacemaker’s helmet.

James Gunn revealed on Twitter that the Peacemaker’s mirrored helmet makes shooting a nightmare. It’s part of the costume, but you can see the crew and equipment shooting the show in every shot. That means they have to go in and edit everything out in post production.

Yes. Peacemaker’s helmet is a damn mirror ball, & we need to remove me & the crew from every single shot in which we use it, in the movie & in the show. We shoot a full wraparound plate of every set (most of which are fortunately practical) to put in the helmet when needed.

You’d think that they could figure out a practical way to fix this issue. Apparently, the Peacemaker’s mirrored helmet is worth all of those post production dollars. We’ll have to see how it all turns out and if they miss any stray reflections of James Gunn and crew in Cena’s helmet along the way.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
