Sonic The Hedgehog was released last year and saw great success, as it was the first time everyone’s favorite hedgehog made his way onto the big screen. It also starred Jim Carrey who played the role of Dr. Eggman. Now it seems the sequel will include characters that long-time fans of the series will be familiar with.

As revealed by photos shared by Twitter user TailsChannel, fans can look forward to seeing franchise icons Knuckles and Tails in the sequel film as life-sized models of Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, and Knuckles were seen on the set of the film.

This is usually done so that the CGI animators have a reference for how the lighting should look for the characters so they can be rendered in a scene better. The shooting was taking place in Fort Langley, British Columbia.

The set appears to be ready for an action scene in a destroyed city and the models appear beaten up, which will make for a great action scene. While it was already confirmed that Tails will be appearing thanks to marketing and the mid-credits scene of the first film, there was no sign of Knuckles appearing until just now.
