The Rock’s movies have made billions around the world and many would like to follow in his footsteps. Dave Bautista is right behind him, but he wanted to take a different approach

JoBlo recently spoke to Dave Bautista about his on-screen career. He was asked about The Rock and he admitted that he wanted to take a different approach with his roles. Where The Rock is someone who uses strength in his roles, Dave wants to be more subtle about things.

“No, because I’ve tried to go the other route. Like, The Rock is a perfect example of someone who uses that strength, so I wanted to go against that grain and make everything much smaller, very subtle. I make a living off of subtlety. I want that to be my strength. I want that to be what separates us. I don’t want to be that guy who walks in that room, I never wanted to be that guy.”

The Rock and Dave Bautista command different roles, both powerful in their own right. We’ll have to see if the two can ever find a reason to share the screen to see what kind of chemistry they might have in Hollywood.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
