John Cena’s name is in high demand and a ton of people would love to get a word with the 16x WWE Champion. That calls for the company to be a bit selective.

Behind the Rose recently spoke to Renee Paquette about her career in broadcasting. Renee was a part of WWE for years as Renee Young, but prior to that she worked on The Score in Canada.

During her conversation, Renee Paquette recalled a time when WWE pulled John Cena from a scheduled interview because WWE didn’t like the approach she was going to take with her interview.

“John Cena was coming in to do an interview and at this time, I was really trying to get my own sh*t in and thinking I was funny and was making the segment more about my humor than the actual person. I was talking about stuff that he could not give a sh*t about. I shouldn’t say he didn’t care because I didn’t even get to do the interview. We’re standing in the studio and Adam Hopkins, PR for WWE, he was looking over my questions and as we’re counting in they were like, ‘Never mind, got it,’ and they canceled the interview. I don’t know if I’ve ever talked to John about that. I was just dumb, I was a 22-year-old and didn’t know what I was doing.”

John Cena and Renee did end up sharing the screen on several occasions, but it was for WWE. That company really likes to make sure that they have as much control over every situation possible, especially when the biggest name in the company is involved at the time.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
