R Kelly’s trail will continue and he only has a few more months of waiting. The famous R&B singer’s sex-trafficking and racketeering trial will take place in August.

A federal judge determined on Thursday that Kelly’s trial will take place in August. This was after the pandemic delayed it several times, four to be exact.

Elizabeth Geddes, Assistant U.S. Attorney General, told U.S District Judge Ann Donnelly during a virtual hearing that prosecutors will “begin that process of moving [Kelly] to Brooklyn from Chicago for trial.”

Kelly is in prison on a separate federal indictment that includes child pornography, sexual exploitation of children and conspiracy to defraud the U.S. Government. He will have his case in Brooklyn and then go to Chicago for more charges.

They will continue to use safety measures in court. Hopefully, the pandemic doesn’t prolong this process any more.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
