OutKast has their fans and so does The Beatles. Little did we know that 2021 would see a battle of the ages between those two fan bases on Twitter.

Comedian Ron Funches is to blame for starting this recent debate. The famous funnyman tweeted out: “When society admits OutKast is better than The Beatles then we can truly start healing.” The official OutKast Twitter account saw this and gave it an eyeballs emoji reply.

After OutKast’s Twitter account replied to Funches, it garnered a huge response. A ton of Beatlemaniacs chimed in to let OutKast fans know that they’re overstepping a bit, but fans of the iconic hip-hop group aren’t hearing it.

The Beatles dominated the rock charts in the 1960s while OutKast mostly did their thing in the 1990s and early 2000’s. The debate over who is the superior music group is still waging on social media and neither side is backing down.

One OutKast fan wrote, “Beatles stole southern Black and added it to British white. OutKast stole Mars and added it to southern urban Black. OutKast wins. Next.”

Other fans relented to the fact that everyone has their own individual tastes in music. That is a fair assessment, but it didn’t squelch the fires of this heated online debate that is still lighting up so many Twitter timelines this morning.

Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
