The practice of kneeling during the National Anthem started with the NFL, but it is now a practice in many sports, including high school basketball.

An Oklahoma high school basketball announcer was caught on audio calling kneeling players “f*cking n*****s. This was obviously not intended to be heard by everyone, but the racist announcer said it in front of a live microphone.

This took place at Norman High School during a girls game as they took on Midwst City on Thursday night.

The Norman players kneeled during the National Anthem and that led the announcer to use such disgusting language toward them. This was played for all to hear on the National Federation of State High School Association Network’s official live stream.

“They’re kneeling? F*cking n*****s. I hope Norman gets their ass kicked. F*ck them. I  hope they lose. They’re gonna kneel like that?”

This has sparked outrage online. Myka Perry, a player from Norman, replied saying: “This is why we kneel.”

Norman superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino ripped into the announcer as well and they have distanced themselves in every way from the incident. They also plan to use a different live streaming service and announcers from now on.
