Nate Diaz remains one of the most legitimate fighters to have ever stepped foot inside the Octagon. Diaz last competed against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” title at UFC 244 back in November 2019. He lost the match via doctor’s stoppage.

Now more than a year since his last match, Diaz was interviewed by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani in February. They discussed what Diaz plans to do next and Diaz told Helwani that he has hope the UFC fighter will get to compete in multiple matches this year.

Diaz also noted how he wants to fight 170 pounds and called out top lightweight fighters Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira to step up their game.

However, Diaz confused fans once again when he took to Twitter on March 7th. The UFC fighter uploaded a photo of himself and MMA fighter Nick Maximov training, likely at Nick Diaz Academy in Stockton, California.

Diaz then teased his next direction in UFC as he said:

“Training for war 185lbs @nickmax15”

It is not known whether Diaz meant he plans on competing at middleweight or if Diaz meant Maximov is planning to drop down to 185 pounds, or perhaps Diaz himself wants to drop to 185 pounds.

We will have to see what Nate Diaz will ultimately do next as the MMA world is closely watching his every move.
