The Rock Dedicates Trailblazer Award To His Father Rocky Johnson

The Rock has received plenty of accolades throughout his career. He recently gave a big honor to his father Rocky Johnson.

Dwayne Johnson’s father Rocky passed away last year at the age of 75. His passing left a hole in the pro wrestling world. Now Young Rock is giving the world a chance to know the man behind the famous in-ring persona.

The Rock was recently given the Hollywood Critics Association’s “Trailblazer Award.” This ceremony took place over Zoom, but The Great One got very emotional after watching a video prior to his acceptance speech.

Johnson said he felt very lucky to be in this position. He’s worked hard his entire career to blaze a path in any way he can.

The Rock then dedicated that award to his father Rocky Johnson. He called his father the real trailblazer and then he went on to describe their relationship as “complicated.” Rocky Johnson was a pro wrestler and he had a very unique home life, but his son can see all his father accomplished.

In the end, Dwayne Johnson was humble and respectful of the award. He still made it very clear that it was actually going to his late Hall of Fame father. You can watch his speech below.
