It has been over a year since the world lost Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna in a tragic helicopter crash. The late basketball legend’s wife Vanessa Bryant has recently opened up about her life since their passing.

While speaking to People, Bryant revealed that for her, every day is filled with unimaginable pain, but she must carry on.

This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward. Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”

Since the tragic passing of her husband and daughter, Vanessa Bryant has kept herself busy with various projects that Kobe Bryant used to work on as well.

Vanessa Bryant worked with author Ivy Claire to complete Kobe’s novel for young adults, “Epoca: The River of Sand.” The novel released in stores last year in December.

She also re-launched Kobe Bryant’s non-profit organization, naming it the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Their objective is to help “underserved athletes and women in sports.”

Vanessa Bryant added that Kobe and Gianna remain as a beacon of inspiration for her to “keep going.”

“They inspire me to try harder and be better every day. Their love is unconditional and they motivate me in so many different ways.”

Despite such a tragedy, Vanessa Bryant refuses it be consumed by it and continues to help those in need.
