Last week, Tiger Woods got into a severe car accident and suffered a number of gruesome injuries to his body. Woods suffered a shattered ankle and a few more broken bones in his right leg among a number of other minor injuries.
The legendary golfer is recovering steadily from the crash and has been shifted to a new medical facility recently. This past Sunday, dozens of golfers and golf fans came forward to give their tributes to Woods by showing up to the WGC Workday Championship in his iconic black pants and red polos.
To respond to this incredibly beautiful gesture, Woods took to his Twitter to talk to his fans for the first time since his brutal car crash. Woods said that he was touched by this tribute and proceeded to thank all the golfers and fans who contributed to it.
He also went on to say that this support from people is helping him get through recovery and the ordeals that followed the car crash.
It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.
Tiger Woods is a bona fide sporting legend and it is no surprise that fans and fellow golfers acknowledge his greatness and pay their tributes to him in this trying time. We hope that Woods speedily recovers from his injuries and can get to the golfing fields as soon as possible.
